Can I vibecode Carrd?
// one session, and a personal version you can actually use
A one-page static site generator with forms and custom domains is absolutely vibecodable; Carrd's price is so low that DIY only makes sense for control or learning.

Gioco editoriale: il verdetto dice se un agente può, l’indice se conviene.
What you build
Generate/edit a single-page HTML site from blocks, host it, attach a domain, and optionally send forms to email/webhook.
what you need
- static hosting
- domain/DNS
- form endpoint
- HTML/CSS templates
- optional LLM/API for generation
To be fair, Carrd is famously cheap. But you have Claude Code; you don't need a site builder at all.
The prompt
One session with a coding agent and your version runs.
Build me a one-page personal site to replace Carrd. Requirements:
- One elegant single-page site from a content.json file: name, headline, short
about paragraph, avatar, social links, and an optional list of projects with
title + description + URL. Editing the JSON is the CMS.
- Design it properly: strong typographic hierarchy, generous whitespace, one
accent color set via a CSS variable, dark mode via prefers-color-scheme,
tasteful hover states. It should look designed, not templated.
- A working contact form with no third-party service: POST to a tiny endpoint
that appends to messages.log and returns an inline thank-you. Honeypot field
for bots.
- Perfect Lighthouse scores: inline the CSS, no frameworks, no webfonts unless
self-hosted, proper OG tags + generated OG image.
- Static HTML + one small server file for the form. Deploy instructions for
any VPS or static host + serverless form alternative. Curated prompt: written and reviewed by hand for this app. In English on purpose — it is the language coding agents work best in.
What you lose
- the visual editor
- hosted forms
- their template gallery
- not having to think about hosting
Why people still pay
They pay because the product costs almost nothing and removes all hosting/domain friction.

Free alternatives
Not in the mood to build it? These already exist, they are free or open source, and we checked them one by one.
Rejected (1) — and why
- GrapesJS (si apre in una nuova scheda) — A library for creating builders, not the one-page builder a normal person came to install.
Who has already built it
Starting from here is still vibecoding: the prompt is for when you want it exactly your way.
- GrapesJS (opens in a new tab) — Open-source web builder library; enough to build a simple Carrd-like editor. (alive)
